Dry skin is a common condition where the skin loses its natural moisture. This happens more often during the winter season, with the frequent change of cold air outdoors with the warm and dry in the rooms. However, even the people living in tropical countries suffer from dry skin, where it is always hot. Skin dryness can also be caused by dehydration due to insufficient fluid intake or the use of coarse detergents and/or other cosmetics.
The shortage of basic substances such as vitamins A and D, excessive exposure to sunlight, the intake of some medicines, may be the cause of dry skin. In any case, dry skin causes unpleasant sensations like itching and “tightening”. In the worst cases, there are visible cracks. Dry skin looks unattractive and makes its owner feel bad about it.
Fortunately, there are completely natural and affordable methods to help revitalize the dry, flaking and lifeless skin. And, believe us, you do not have to try expensive creams and procedures first, because their effect is controversial; secondly – because most of them contain harmful chemical ingredients, and third – the means you will have to put in them are not at all less.
Cold-pressed, organic olive oil is a widely used tool. It is used both for cosmetic purposes and in cooking. Do you use olive oil on your face, keep in mind that the label should indicate that the acidity is less than 0.8%.
Put a small amount of olive oil in the problem areas on your face and body, paying particular attention to your knees, elbows, hands and hips. Lubricate the olive oil until you know that it has absorbed into the skin. In the evening, after bathing, you can rub your face with a few drops without washing. In the morning you will be amazed at the effect.
There are a few aspects of human health to which coconut oil cannot be applied. In cosmetics, it is popular with its rejuvenating and deeply hydrating properties, the teeth whitening action, and its beneficial effect on the scalp and hair. Used regularly on teeth, coconut oil has a whitening effect. Due to its antibacterial and antimicrobial composition, the oral cavity, including the tongue, with coconut oil can remove the bad breath and the unpleasant sensation of dry mouth. Coconut oil has natural soothing properties and hydrates the skin without lubricating it. You yourself will see how, after applying it well on the skin of your face, it will absorb for about ten minutes. If you choose to take advantage of it, choose coconut oil that is NOT hydrogenated, refined or bleached. To be truly effective, coconut oil should be cold pressed, unrefined and organic certified. Keep in mind that used regularly on the face, coconut oil smooths existing wrinkles and slows the appearance of new ones. Coconut oil is also a great choice for cooking, as with heat treatment up to 180 degrees, it – unlike all the useful oils, including olive oil, does not lose its beneficial properties!
The real raw honey is a great remedy for eliminating inflammation. In cases where the skin is too dry, you feel it extremely “stretched”, you have the feeling of “needles”, it is always flushed, etc., the honey may be the best helper.
Apply the honey carefully on the problem areas of your face and body with a “tapping” of your fingers. Repeat the procedure at least once a day.
There is hardly anyone who has not heard of the beneficial effects of yogurt. It contains the so-called “good” bacteria that favor the condition of the gastrointestinal tract. Yoghurt is also a good remedy for local use because it contains lactic acid that soothes and exfoliates the skin, tightens the pores and stimulates the production of collagen.
In the morning or evening after bathing, apply a thick layer of yoghurt to the skin of your face and let it stand for at least 20 minutes. If you mix yogurt with a little honey, the effect can be incredible!
The gel contained in the leaves of this plant is an excellent moisturizing agent. Aloe Vera has many healing properties, which is why it is often called “cure by nature” or “miracle plant”. The Aloe Vera gel can be taken internally for a strong immune system as well as for calming the gastrointestinal tract. It acts highly antioxidant. Applied locally to the skin, it has a unique moisturizing effect, thanks to which the deepest skin layers are also hydrated!
It sounds strange, but salt can treat both the skin of the face and that of the body. It is the perfect exfoliating agent that removes dead cells, reduces inflammation and improves blood circulation. Use it in the bathroom when the pores are open.
Avocado oil is rich in vitamins A, E and D, which are very important for healthy and hydrated skin. You can make facial masks from avocado, to which you can add honey. This mixture can be stored in a hermetically sealed container in a refrigerator. Its durability lasts about 24 hours.
